NEW BROADFORD TRACK READY TO GO.
round 2 supp regs click HERE
Ladies and Gents,
CAMS has inspected the new track at Broadford and given us the thumbs up. So
Round 2 will definitely be running at the State Motorcycle Complex, Broadford on
SUNDAY 26 FEBRUARY.
Massive apologies that the supp regs still aren't out, but CAMS was holding
their release until the venue was green lighted and I have to thank all the
Cerberus Car Club members who have been working their arses off to a very tight
timeline and managed to get us approved.
I expect to be able to post the Supps tomorrow.
If you've got any questions that the Supp Regs would normally answer and want an
answer asap, feel free to email me direct (ttrr75 at gmail.com) and I'll answer
it or make something up.
Cheers
Tom
RESULTS FOR ROUND 1 VCAS
Hi All,
as you would have seen Rnd 1 results have been uploaded. Apoloigies for
the delay Nic thought I was doing them, I thought he was doing them, but
here they are. Some interesting results across the board.
* Class J as a tie for 1st.
* Jordan Nowell 7th outright. (Jordan is still junior age but he is in
class S car), Chris Coxall Adams was 8th outright in a class D car (A PB
I am pretty sure)
* 3 tied positions all up across class and outright.
* 5 Classes represented in top 10 outright (The old 90% driver, 10% car
rule perhaps).
* Class C seems to have almost every place from 10th to20th outright.
* James Stanford made a return and took it away, 1st Class W, 1st outright.
Personally a big thanks to everyone that let me drive their car, it
would have been a really boring afternoon otherwise and I loved every
car I got in. Still feel a bit special for being allowed in the bug,
that thing pulls as hard or harder than the rex.
As Tom R has mentioned Broadford is on track for a fortnights time. I
was there on the weekend and witnessed what may be the most exciting
track we have to date. 2Km's long, steeper and more tree lined than
Maffra (Boisedale) this is not one for the faint of heart. I am really
looking forward to it, as is anyone else that has seen it to date.
Pretending that I am not a CCC member for a moment and putting my
chairpersons hat on, I would ask that everyone exercise a little
patience and keep in mind that this is the first event to be held at a
brand new track. There may be things that are not polished and perfect
but these are the things that require an event to be run to uncover.
Just remember before you have a go at someone for anything, that person
is a volunteer necessary for you to be able to run for the day (This
applies to every round btw).
See you up there, I'll be the excited looking fella
Cheers
Jade
SNEAK PEAK AT NEW BROADFORD TRACK.
Cerberus Members have been working for many weeks now to get the New Broadford track ready for round 2 of the VCAS series, with dozer and grader work only just completed some members had a little blast around it for the first time only the other day. It's not as forgiving as some tracks but with some steep uphills and a couple of fast blind corners it's going to be bucket loads of fun. This round 2 event will be the first at this track. It will be new for everyone, including the organisers but Cerberus intend to turn it into one of the best in the state. Plans are already in place for a club house / timing area and some great spectating spots. It won't all be in place by the 26th but when the track is used again later this year they hope that a majority of the work is completed.
SUPP REGS WILL BE OUT VERY SOON
PRIORITY PRE -PAID FORM CAN NOW BE FOUND IN SERIES RULES SECTION

The Deniliquin Sporting Car Club will host Round 1 Saturday 4th Feburary
It's an awesome fast track the huge sweeper onto the finish line always provides great entertainment.

Before we get into the details, firstly, let me thank each and every
official that has helped over the year, I ask you all to remember that
without them we really are just "wanne be" rally drivers with an X-Box
and too much time on our hands. Without the effort of a small group of
people, some of whom work for months to get an event organised, we don't
get to enjoy what we do. There is a particularly special bunch even
amongst this group that I would like to acknowledge, those that don't
compete. I do some stuff for VCAS every now and then and honestly
consider it largely self serving, I get to to race, that's all I ever
wanted. But these people do it for you and I so that we can race and are
always there when we need them, so to them, I thank you with all my heart.
The other group that rarely get acknowledged are you guys, the
competitors. Without you (and me) there is no series, that part is
obvious, but I think we have achieved a little more than a series over
the years, the camaraderie and spirit that I see is what really makes
the day the best day of the month for me. There's an old joke that says
lending race cars is like lending your spouse, but I have seen so much
of it this year it is amazing and really nice to be around people that
are willing to help out like that. There are others that will always
help out when someone else's car dies whether they are a direct
competitor or not, but just because they can. And aside from all of that
there is always someone willing to have a bit of a chat and indulge your
stories of woe and heroics with more enthusiasm and tolerance than most
at home would.
So, in short, thanks to everyone for a great year.
Well, the year has been one and run, there were no protests of any
substance that arose from our week of provisional results so they are
now final. That means I can announce all of our class and outright
winners as seen below. Congratulations to all, as has been mentioned it
has been a very hotly contested year in VCAS and all those gaining a
place should be very proud to have achieved this. I believe this year
has been the closest representation of a state series I have seen to
date, there was true and fierce contests in every class and a more even
spread of clubs across the rounds than ever before. We even gained a new
track in the mix, if you missed it, I had your runs. Some quick stats
for the year
* There were 347 competitors eligible for VCAS points entered this year.
* In total there were 741 eligible entries for the year.
* 4 Classes were won by competitors with more than 90 out of a
possible 100 points, one of those has 96 points for the year in one
of the toughest classes. This means that all but 4 times he "beat
the locals" on their own turf, not any easy thing to do.
* KCC, the winning club, scored 322 out of a possible 330 points for
the year!
* FFCC came 2nd with half the entrants of the 4 clubs near them on
points.
* MADCC had the most entries for the year with 139, closely followed
by CCC with 137.
* 32 competitors entered 6 or more rounds. (I would love to see this
double, bring a mate, it halves the cost)
* The most competitive classes on paper are Class E and J with 6 and 7
entrants respectively entering more than 6 rounds.
* Only 1 competitor that received a 1st trophy last year will receive
one this year.
* 2011 was run over 7 different tracks, 2012 will be run over 9
different tracks.
I hope to see all of you this year at as many events as possible, it
should be an exciting year with VCAS gaining 1 new affiliated club and 2
new tracks. Rover Motor Sport will be joining us with a new track at
Mafeking Park near Caveat, NW of Alexandra. CCC will also have it's new
track up and running for 2012 at Broadford on the grounds of the
Motorcycle Complex. This is quite a big deal for VCAS meaning that we
have gained 3 tracks in 2 years and helped secure the vibrancy and
viability of the series for years to come. It is very important that we
gain these sort of facilities as it very easy to lose them and very hard
to regain them.
See you in the sunshine (cross fingers) at Deni,
Jade Lawson
VCAS Chairperson 2011
PS If we could gain just one more regular competitor from each club for
the year we would have 13 additional regular competitors. Time to hassle
your mates.
Please note because your name is here you do not necessarily get a
trophy, there is a complex set of rules that determines this based on
the # of competitors in your class over the year. As I am guessing
no-one is willing to go through both the rules and the years results to
figure out if you got a trophy, we will keep that part a secret until
Deni. If you came third there is a hint above.

CHANGES TO VCAS FOR 2011 SERIES
Clarification of Rules in Classes A,B,J & L.
The following will be added to the rules for each of the following classes:
Classes A & B
a.. Addition of a racing type or improved drivers seat is allowed in the
interests of safety.
b.. Roll cages and half cages are permitted in the interests of safety.
c.. All seating must be in place and original. The drivers seat may be
replaced in accordance with the above clause.
Class J
This was debated in the meeting and via email after the meeting. Some of the
meeting minutes regarding wording were not clear enough and were cleared up
after the meeting via email vote. The following was decided
Entrants eligible for classes J will be restricted from driving cars
scrutineered into classes W & S. Entrants otherwise qualifying for these classes
will be required to enter into the normal class for that car regardless of age
or sex."
Class L
This was also debated in the meeting and via email after the meeting. Some of
the meeting minutes regarding wording were not clear enough and were cleared up
after the meeting via email vote. The following was decided
Entrants eligible for classes J will be restricted from driving cars
scrutineered into classes W & S. Entrants otherwise qualifying for these classes
will be required to enter into the normal class for that car regardless of age
or sex."
In reality the rules will read:
"Entrants eligible for classes L & J will be restricted from driving cars
scrutineered into classes W & S. Entrants otherwise qualifying for these classes
will be required to enter into the normal class for that car regardless of age
or sex."
If anyone has questions arising from these 2011 series rule changes please ask your club rep for help.
